The mission of the division is to provide critical services to students, parents and visitors to NC State University throughout the student lifecycle, from identifying prospective students through graduation and beyond. EMAS offices and units are at the intersection of vital academic services that can positively impact student outcomes, reduce time to degree, promote awareness of NC State’s brand beyond North Carolina, and improve institutional effectiveness. EMAS utilizes a collaborative and integrated approach to student success, pursuing organizational excellence, and creating strategic partnerships to engage our community both locally and globally.
EMAS Systems and Operations provides information technology solutions to facilitate and streamline business functions throughout the Enrollment Management and Services division in support of University goals and initiatives. We are committed to strong partnerships, creative technology-based solutions, promoting best practices and ensuring adherence to data security policies.
Essential Job Duties
- Responsibility for IT purchasing, setup and support for Enrollment Management and Services, including but not limited to EMAS, C3, Goodnight Scholarships, Parents and Families Services and Registration & Records.
- Maintain the department/divisions system licenses and access and provide division-wide technology security training and updates.
- Serve as the tier one point of contact for university personnel regarding SIS (Student Information System) related issues.
- Perform ongoing testing of SIS and other systems as needed.
- Understand security set-up in SIS to assist the IT Business Analyst I position during peak times.
Other Responsibilities
- Assists in answering departmental phone calls and email issues/questions.
- Participates in university commencement ceremonies.
- A secondary focus will be contributing to the build and implementation of new information systems.
Minimum Experience/Education
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the field of technology related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Other Required Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, MacOS, and all current Windows desktop operating systems is required
- This person must be able to create and maintain technical documentation
- They must have excellent oral and written communications skills and must be detail-oriented
- They must have good interpersonal skills and a customer-centric attitude
- Solid technical background with an ability to give instructions to a non-technical audience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SIS (PeopleSoft)
- Inventory Management
Required License or Certification
Valid NC Driver's License required
